Jesse Irvin Mundy, Jr., 86, of Blythewood, died Monday, May 18, 2015. Born on April 6, 1929 in Blythe, GA he was a son of the late Jesse Irvin Mundy, Sr, and Lettie Tebow Mundy. Mr. Mundy retired from Fort Jackson as an electrical lineman after thirty plus years.

Mr. Mundy was a charter member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and a former member of Belmont Baptist. He devoted his life to his Lord, his family, and his church. Mr. Mundy's favorite times were spent hunting, fishing, and farming with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Lott Mundy; daughters, Lisa Hightower (Dan) Vance of Cayce, Eme Earles of Elgin; sisters, Marian (Wade) Thomas of Clearwater, SC, Ellen Thomas of Aiken, Melba (Roland) Seigler of Aiken; and brother, Douglas M. "Mac" (Jane) Mundy of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Alice (Chris) Wofford, Jesse (Katie) Hightower, Elizabeth Earles, Marsha Earles, and Matthew Earles; and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Mundy; and grandson, Charlie Hightower.

A service will be held at three o'clock, Wednesday, May 20th at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. James W. Thompson, III officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at two o'clock. The family requests memorials may be made to Cedar Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 1920 Cedar Creek Road, Blythewood, SC 29016. Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel is assisting the family.
