Obituary

Jewel Bryant Cannon, 93, died Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Born on November 3, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Henry Friendly and Ida Carraway Bryant. Mrs. Cannon was a graduate of Florence High School and attended Coker College. She enjoyed fashion, playing tennis, and traveling which often included trips to Europe. She was an honorary life member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church in Georgetown, SC.

Survivors include her son, Clifford Daniel (Dan) Cannon, Jr., and his wife, Laurie, of Columbia; grandchildren, Clifford Daniel Cannon, III, and his wife Rachel, of Canton, GA, Dr. Robert Clayton Cannon, and his wife, Christina, of Marietta, GA, and Kyle Wilson Cannon, and his wife, Kenzie, of Charleston; as well as six great-grandchildren, Cade, Beckett, Ella, Crosby, Emma and Isla Cannon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Daniel Cannon; and three sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cannon will be held 11 o'clock, Friday, April 29th, at First Presbyterian Church of Columbia, with the Rev. Josh Squires officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in Jackson Hall of the church. Burial in Old Johnsonville Cemetery, Johnsonville, SC, will be private. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
