Jewel "Diane" Stillwell Stanton, 77, of Columbia, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Born in Winnsboro, SC, on November 12, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Tony and Thelma Stillwell. Church always came first in Mrs. Stanton's life. She was a member of Elmwood Avenue Church of God for over 50 years where she taught Sunday school and participated in the choir. Mrs. Stanton will be remembered as loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Fred M. Stanton; three sons, Stan, Stephen (Kelly), and Stuart Stanton; and a daughter, Sherri Davis, all of Columbia; grandchildren, Eric, Jacob, Joseph, Ali-Morgan, Jackson Stanton, and Katelyn Davis, of Columbia, SC; and a sister, Jackie Talbert, of Spartanburg, SC; In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stanton was preceded in death by a sister, Gretchen Crossland.

The funeral service for Mrs. Stanton will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, October 27th, at Elmwood Avenue Church of God with Pastor Jay C. Brunson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Friday evening at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
