Jimmy Ray Lovell, 78, of Columbia, died on Sunday, December 17, 2023. Born in Winnsboro, SC, on January 22, 1945, he was a son of the late Luther and Mary Gulledge Lovell. Jimmy had a big heart. He was known for his friendly, outgoing personality and caring ways. He enjoyed antique and fast cars, model cars, long joy drives, watching western movies, and attending church. Above all, he deeply loved his late wife, Gwen, and took care of her always.

Survivors include his son, LJ Davis (Tonya); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, and wife, Gwendolyn Bigbiee Lovell, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Marvin Lovell, Clarence Lovell, Ruby Huggins and Louise Reynolds.

A memorial service for Mr. Lovell will be held at a later date. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
