Jinki (Virginia) Sadler Suber passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters and sisters on Sunday, January 26, 2025. Born on April 2, 1951, in Clinton, SC, she was a daughter of the late Rufus Earle and Mary Doherty Sadler.
Jinki established the first therapeutic riding program in the Midlands, Wings, Inc. She worked with Dr. Kris Laabs in her veterinary clinic, then the SC Surgical Referral for 14 years. After her retirement, Jinki established the pet evacuation emergency plan for Richland County Government. Jinki received the first hazmat veterinary training under George Mick.
In addition to her parents, Jinki is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Andy Suber. Andy was the love and happiness of her life until his death in 2020. She also was preceded in death by her sisters, Sara Turnipseed and Julia McCrae.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sara (Kevin) Tyer and Katie (Greg) Arthurs along with their father, Rob Hopkins; two stepsons, Jonathan (Amanda) Suber and David Suber; six grandchildren, Jack and Izzy Suber, Owen and Sadie Tyer, William and Bradley Arthurs. She also leaves behind her two sisters, Dr. Patsy Sadler (Walter) and Nancy Sadler (Mac); as well as her brother-in-law, Bill Turnipseed. Jinki is proud of her daughters, sons-in-law, stepsons, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. She will always and forever love her family.
The graveside service for Jinki will be held at 10:30a.m., Wednesday, January 29th at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Ave, Columbia, SC with the Rev. Dr. Ellen Fowler Skidmore officiating.
