Joan Brazell Langley, 74, of Columbia, died Saturday, October 29, 2016. Born August 20, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Muriel Mayers Brazell. Joan was married to the late Robert G. Langley, Jr. for 36 years and was ready to go home to see her husband. Family was her first priority in life. She was known as a caring person, who cared for her neighbor, Louise Howell. Joan was retired from WalMart, and was a faithful Gamecock fan. Her vegetable soup was a favorite in the neighborhood.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Debra Trotman (Michael); son/ grandson, Michael D. Wines (Adriene); great granddaughter, Amberley Wampler; brother, Donald Brazell (Sandra); two nieces; one nephew; "special friend and sister, Nell Coffey; and beloved pet, Trouble, of 23 years.
A service will be held 1 o'clock, Wednesday, November 2nd, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, with The Rev. Richard Lang officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Serenity Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be T. W. Coffey and T. J. Coffey. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o'clock.
