Funeral Mass for Joan Hipp Lynn, 78, will be held Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, 1:00 o'clock at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with final commendation and farewell prayers in Kelly Cemetery. Shives Funeral Home is in charge. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pawmetto Lifeline, 1275 Bower Pkwy, Columbia, SC 29212.

Active pallbearers will be Wyman and Roy Looney, Judge Michael Davis, Gene Kelly, Jay Talbot and Daniel Dreher.

Mrs. Lynn, wife of Kenneth H. Lynn, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at her home in Ocala, FL. Born in Coral Gables, FL, she was the daughter of the late Joe W. Hipp and Dolores Lynde Hipp, and a granddaughter of the late Inez Viola Kelly Daniels. Joan was a graduate of Coral Gables High School, and attended the University of Florida as a music major. She had resided in Ocala for nearly 20 years, where she was active in several animal rescue organizations. Joan was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy, through the service of her SC ancestors.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years; sons, Robert A. and David B. Lynn of Ocala, and Mark J. Lynn of Lexington; four first cousins; and her beloved pets.
