Joan M. Schwieters, 79, passed away peacefully in her home on July 8, 2026, in the loving care of her husband.
Born on October 8, 1946, Joan was the beloved daughter of the late Henry “Harry” and Claire Healy. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Healy.
Joan shared a loving marriage of 40 years with her devoted husband, Thomas “Tom” J. Schwieters. Throughout her life, Tom was her steadfast partner and greatest supporter, and he lovingly cared for her until the very end. Their enduring relationship was a testament to commitment, compassion, and pure patience.
Joan was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her sister, Joanne Wolff (Brian); her children, Robert Winters Jr. and Joanne Fasnacht (Jason); her grandchildren, Zachary Thier (Victoria), Collin Cochcroft, Brittany Brown (Dewayne), and Brooke Spoone (Jordan); and her seven great-grandchildren, Henry, Aubree, Easton, Aiden, Madelyn, Joseph, and Braxton.
Joan was an avid reader and enjoyed her online community of friends. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her quick wit, sharp tongue, and uncanny humor. In her healthier days, she was always the life of the party.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort knowing that she is no longer suffering and rejoicing in heaven.
Joan will forever be held in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
