Joel Adrian "Whitey" Fulmer, 71, of Gaston, died Monday, November 24, 2014. Born in Columbia on February 25, 1943, he was predeceased by his parents, the late Durham F. and Frances Simpkins Fulmer, as well as a brother, David La Vaughn Fulmer.

Adrian retired after more than 40 years with the University of South Carolina, yet remained an avid Gamecock fan, especially following the football and baseball teams. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Agnes "Aggie" Fulmer; son, Stephen Craig Fulmer; daughter, Brandis Adrian Fulmer; step-son, Bo Burr; step-daughter, Cathy (Mike) Alf; grandson, Brandon Burr; sister, Brenda Fulmer Long (Frank); as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A visitation for Mr. Fulmer will be held 5 until 7 o'clock on Friday, November 28, 2014, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel. The family suggests memorials be made to Palmetto Health Baptist Hospice, P.O. Box 7275 Columbia, SC 29202.
