John Nelson Bartos, 70, of Columbia, died Friday, December 26, 2014. Born in Vero Beach, FL on February 11, 1944, he was a son of the late Hank and Janie Tedder Bartos. John was a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine C. Bartos; daughters, Debbie Wickizer and Kimberly Weed; his son, Jay (Jessica) Bartos, all of Columbia; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his brother, Hank (Candy) Bartos of Alaska; and his sister, Nancy Coker of Lexington. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Edward T. Bartos.

A memorial service for Mr. Bartos will be held 3 o'clock, Sunday, January 4th, at North Trenholm Baptist Church, with The Rev. R. Joseph Copeland officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock. Memorials may be made to the church at 6515 N Trenholm Rd, Columbia, SC 29206.
