John Franklin Beall, Jr., 91, of Summerville, SC, died Monday, July 6, 2015. Born in Atlanta, GA, on December 6, 1923, he was a son of the late John Franklin Beall, Sr. and Lena Mildred Sirmans Beall. John enjoyed playing the lottery and visiting the casino in Cherokee, NC. He spent many happy hours fishing in his younger years, and was very proud of his service to his country. John served in the US Navy and retired from the US Army as director of food services, and later retired from the US Postal Service.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Borja Beall Reeves; daughters, Anne B. (Bobby) Epting, Johnnie Sue (Ken) Hinson; son, Paul (Linda M.) Beall; step-sons, John Ryan (Gina) Reeves, Jesse Lee Reeves; grandchildren, Meghan Morse, Heather Beall, Christina Duval, Gene Epting, Chris Epting, Bonnie Toole, Tony Ward and Gene (Krista) Ward; nine great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy "Dot" (Ted) Parker; and nephew, Roger (JoAnn) Beall. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Drennan Beall; brother, Charles Beall; and sister, Ilene Hofman.

A graveside service for Mr. Beall will be held 11 o'clock, Friday, July 10th, at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Thursday evening, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia.
