John Robert Brumbaugh, 66, of Columbia, died Friday, March 3, 2017. He was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia on June 16, 1950 to the late James Robert and Faynetta Rose Van Metre Brumbaugh. Mr. Brumbaugh was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church in Columbia, and was a member of the Masonic Alpha Lodge, A.F. & A.M., in Framingham, Massachusetts.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Minnick Brumbaugh; sister, Beverly Van Metre of Martinsville, WV; daughter, Elizabeth Rose Brumbaugh and son, James Lawson Layfette Brumbaugh, both of Gulfport, MS; stepchildren, David A Windham (Ginny) of Greenwood, SC and Kristopher R. Windham (Jennifer) of West, TX. Also surviving are his four dogs, Bob, Lily, Emmett, and Gidget. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Lafayette Van Metre.
The service for Mr. Brumbaugh will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday, March 9, 2017 at St. David's Episcopal Church, with The Reverend William M. "Scotty" Brock officiating. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
