Mr. John Allen Dehart's Obituary
John Allen Dehart, 85, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away on September 11, 2013. He was the son of Daniel Jacob Dehart and Eloise Werts Dehart. He was born in Newberry County on July 17, 1928. Johnny was predeceased by 5 brothers and 1 sister. He leaves behind two sisters, Sara Dehart White (Mrs. Cecil J. White) and Mary Jane Dehart Osborne (Mrs. Kelly F. Osborne); a number of loving nieces and nephews and their families.
Johnny was a Southern Railroad Telegraph Operator for 30 years. He studied dance with the Foster School of Dance and Calvert Brody Studios. Johnny performed with the Columbia City Ballet, and for 40 years he performed in local theatre groups, including Town Theatre, Workshop Theatre and Columbia College.
A gathering of family and friends will be October 12th from 4 until 6 at the residence.
