John Henry Dial, Sr., 73, of Columbia, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Born July 8, 1950, in Columbia, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Frank Henry and Helen Louise Neeley Dial. John loved his family, fishing, dancing and traveling, especially to Florida. He enjoyed being self-employed and the many days selling produce.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Agnes Shelton Dial; sons, John Henry Dial, Jr. and Timmy Ray (Teresa) Dial; grandchildren, John Henry Dial, III, Matthew Bubba Frank Dial, Valery Michelle Morgan, Trevor Frank Dial, Daniel Mark Dial, Danielle Nicole Dial, Timothy Ray Dial, and Bradley Ray Dial; great grandchildren, Hunter Dial and Trevor Frank Dial, Jr.; brother, Frank Dial, Jr. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Faye McGrady.

The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 o'clock Saturday, January 27th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
