Mr. John David Harris, Jr., 60, formerly from Columbia, SC, died on Saturday, June 29, 2013. Born in Columbia, on March 11, 1953, he was the son of Minnie Mae Cooper Harris and the late John David Harris, Sr. Mr. Harris had served eight years as commissioner of the Tigerville Volunteer Fire Department, and attended Tigerville Baptist Church.

Survivors include his special friend, Robin Smith; his mother; son, Gregory Harris; niece, Sheree M. (Daniel) Rabon; great-nieces, Caitlin and Peyton Rabon; and numerous cousins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by sister, Sandra Mae Easterling; and aunt, Gaynell Allison.

A funeral service for Mr. Harris will be held 2 o'clock, Tuesday, July 2nd, at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia with The Rev. Paul Smith and The Rev. James A. Goudelock officiating. Burial will follow at Lybrand Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock.
