Obituary

John "Johnny" Leslie Jackson, 62, of Lugoff, died Thursday, January 7, 2021. Born August 13, 1958, in Columbia, his father was the late Everett Leroy Jackson and his mother was the late Betty Boulware. Johnny loved to go to church, sing, and play his guitar. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for over three decades in the maintenance department for the State of South Carolina.

Survivors include his son, Todd Hatcher; sisters, Rosalee Stocker (Dennis) and Margaret Kelley; brother, Kenneth Jackson (Tonya); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Kay Jackson and his sister, Elaine Martin.

The funeral service for Johnny will be held 11 o'clock Saturday, January 16th at Lighthouse Christian Ministry, 1500 Cherokee Blvd, Elgin, SC 29045. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service at the church beginning at 10 o'clock. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbia, 9301 Wilson Blvd, Columbia, SC 29203.

Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC is assisting the family.

Everyone is invited to attend but will be asked to abide by the state's recommendations of wearing masks and social distancing to provide a safe environment for all.
