Obituary
Columbia – John Leroy Leigh Jr., 81, husband of the late Delores Leigh, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 29, 2015. His children are Doreen Leigh (Seliquini), Karen Brown (John), John Leigh III, Traci Ford (Donovan); and Joe Stonestreet, husband to his late daughter, Barbara Stonestreet, as well as 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mr. Leigh, formerly of Rockville, MD, was born in Washington, DC on May 21, 1934, the only child of the late John Leroy Leigh, Sr. and Louise Boyd Coughlin. John was a police officer in his early days for the Montgomery County Police Department in Rockville, MD and then worked as a claims adjuster for Geico Insurance for more than 25 years until his retirement. He will be dearly missed. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel is assisting the family.
The family request in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation, 508 Hampton Street, Suite 200, Columbia, SC 29201 or to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
