Quitman Marshall, 93, died July, 30, 2021, at his home in Columbia. Born January 16, 1928, in Columbia, he attended city schools and the University of SC, where he was a member of USC's swim team. He served in the US Army at the end of WWII. A talented and fun-loving man, who enjoyed life and other people, Quitman was a sportsman, builder, assistant scoutmaster, and master of an accounting business into his ninth decade.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Foster, Betty, and Jane Brooks, as well as the mother of his first five sons, Chovine Van Keuren Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Jan, eight sons, Quitman III (Martine), Van Keuren (Catherine), Calvin (Susan), Bill (Cathie), Preston (Michelle), Jamy (Kerri), Justin (Chris), Brooks (Jenny), twenty grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

The memorial service with visitation following will be held Sunday, August 8th, at 3 pm, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600, Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
