John "Thundering Buffalo" Earl Sifford III, 66, of Columbia, died on Thursday, October 14, 2021. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, on September 12, 1955, he was a son of Harriet Crawford Sifford and the late John Earl Sifford, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Park Sifford; children, Jennifer Elaine Rowley (Andrew), John Earl Sifford, IV(Jen); grandchildren, Brenden Addison Sifford, Carolina Jade Sifford, Cameron Bruce Rowley; and a brother, Patrick Macon Sifford.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother Paul Lynn Sifford.

The service for Mr. Sifford will be held at 2 o'clock, Wednesday, October 20th, at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church, 6500 N. Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC, with Rev. Ed Black officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
