With sorrow in our hearts, we announce the passing of such an honorable man, Johnny James Fogle, 75, died on Monday, August 12, 2024. Born in Columbia, SC, on October 23, 1948, he was a son of the late James and Virginia Lewis Fogle.
Mr. Fogle was a graduate of Columbia High School and was self-employed in the flooring industry for his entire life. During his free time, he enjoyed fishing, NASCAR races, westerns, gardening and being with family, especially near the lake where he had lived for the past 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Catherine Cook Fogle; children, John Brian Fogle (Rita), Stephanie Fogle (Joel Black), and Kevin Buck Fogle; grandchildren, Josh Fogle (Kaitlyn), Tabatha Norredd (Blake), Debbie Erwin (Dustin), Kelsey Coleman (Adderly), Taylor Fogle (Seth), Summer Fogle, Cheyenne Fogle, and Devin Fogle, as well as 10 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild expected in September. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Billings, Patricia Register, Stanley Fogle, Harold Fogle and Pete Fogle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Fogle and his best friend, Royce Wiley.
The funeral service for Mr. Fogle will be held at 11 o'clock, Thursday, August 15th, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Wednesday evening at the Colonial Chapel.
