Jonathan Sterling Buckner, 29, of Lexington, died Monday, November 6, 2012. Born in Columbia, on March 8, 1983, he was the son of Charles Wendell and Karla Patricia Rouchka Buckner.

Jonathan was formerly a member of the US Coast Guard, a trooper with the SC Highway Patrol and a police officer with the city of South Congaree. He currently worked with a custom wheel repair service.

In addition to his parents, Jonathan is survived by his brothers, Charles (Tonya) Buckner, Jr. and Christopher M. Buckner; sisters, Heidi (Shane) Thompson, Christina M. Buckner and Laura A. Buckner; six nieces and nephews, Brittany M. Buckner, Karla Thompson, Marina M. Deeds, Brandon Welch, Shane Luca Thompson and Brianna W. Thompson; as well as his partner, Kipp Davis.

The funeral service for Mr. Buckner will be held 3 o'clock, Friday, November 9th at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock.
