Jordan Christian Basl, 22, of Columbia died Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Born in Dayton, OH on July 23, 1992 he was a son of Roger William Basl and Catherine Lynn Basl. Jordan was a member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Annandale, VA; Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity, and an Eagle Scout with Bronze Palm. A talented musician, he enjoyed playing guitar, piano, drums, the ukulele and was a gifted songwriter. He was a founding member of the band PillowTalk. Jordan was looking forward to graduating with honors from USC in May and beginning his career with Price-Waterhouse-Cooper.

Jordan loved to travel, and travelled the world during his college career, studying in both China and the Netherlands. He enjoyed talking with the native people in each country he visited. He also found great joy in cooking and trying his hand at new food creations.

In addition to his parents, Jordan is survived by a sister, Hannah Basl; and brother, Jonah Basl all of Fairfax, VA; grandfather, Bob Christian; plus many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a grandfather and his grandmothers.

Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family in Columbia and Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family in Fairfax, VA. A memorial service will be held May 23rd at 3 o'clock at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, 8617 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA, 22003.
