Joseph E. Chambers, 86, of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Born December 25, 1936, in Savannah, Georgia, he was the son of the late Leroy and Idell Chambers.

Joe began his career in promotional sales for Dixie Specialty Company and eventually purchased the business and rebranded under the name Joe Henry Company. He would enjoy a successful career that spanned more than three decades before his eventual retirement. His family, friends, and customers will always remember him for his outgoing personality, great sense of humor, and his ability to become the center of attention. Joe loved to worship God and was a former member of Shandon Baptist Church and current member of First Baptist Church of Columbia. His greatest joy in life was his family, cherishing each moment he spent with them, especially when given the opportunity to spoil his two granddaughters. Joe appreciated being outdoors and golfing was his favorite pastime.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Eloise D. Chambers; children, Lee Chambers (Tina) and Leslie Eaddy (Justin). He also leaves behind his two granddaughters, Kristina Chambers and Mercer Eaddy.

The funeral service for Mr. Chambers will be held at 11 o'clock, Saturday, September 2nd at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10 o'clock.
