Joseph M. Kinsey, Jr., son of the late Joseph Miley and Nelle Dent Kinsey, was born in Columbia, SC, on May 13, 1943. He was the second of three children and was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Linda Kinsey Sessions and her husband, Raymond, as well as his brother, William Kinsey.
Joe is survived by three daughters; Laurie Kinsey Mitchell and husband, Thomas Mitchell, and their son, Jake, Kimberly Kinsey Ray and husband, Douglas Ray, and their sons, Tanner and Ryder, Stephanie Kinsey Ehlen and her husband, Tim Ehlen, and their children, Kacey, John and Addison. He was also loved by his nieces and nephews.
Joe completed his education from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1967. He joined E.I. DuPont de Nemours, Inc. in 1967 as a Medical X-Ray Film salesperson. His assignments included Tulsa, Oklahoma, Houston, TX, El Paso, TX, Little Rock, AR, and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Upon retirement from Du Pont, Joe was associated with Cummings X-Ray, Little Rock, AR, Merry X-Ray, Tulsa, OK, as well as Ozark Imaging, Fayetteville, AR.
He enjoyed playing golf, South Carolina Gamecocks Football, NASCAR, talking politics, and spending time with his family.
The graveside service for Joe will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday, June 19th at Dent Family Cemetery, 5225 US Hwy 321, Columbia, SC, with Rev. Tony Rowell officiating. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
