Also surviving are his parents, Ralph and Donna of Kennesaw, GA; brother, Samuel David Dorner (Kinsy); niece, Graycee Lynn Dorner; nephew, Brady Windham Dorner all of Central Point, OR; grandfather, Franklin Delano (Gabby) Windham of Columbia, SC; uncle, Franklin Delano (Bubba) Windham Jr. (Susan) of Columbia, SC; aunts, Tracy Windham Corn (Randy) of Blythewood, SC, and Bridgette Windham Branson (Ray) of Columbia, SC. Joshua had many cousins and extended aunts & uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth Smith Windham.

After graduating North Cobb High School, Josh attended Kennesaw State University in pursuit of a degree in Geographic Information Science and Cartography. Josh earned many military awards, including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Expeditionary Service Ribbon.

Joshua was a jack of many trades from general construction to electrical wiring installations; some of the things he enjoyed building were 2 story storage sheds, home additions and backyard decks. He loved sports in general and played many sports from Little League through High School. Josh was an avid fan of the USC Gamecocks, Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons.
