Mrs. Joy Agnes Shealey Kyzer Brown, 93, of Columbia, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. She was born on February 2, 1927, in Columbia, South Carolina. Joy was the sixth of seven children born to Eli David Shealey and Mary Agnes Purvis Shealey.
Joy graduated from Olympia High School in 1943 as Valedictorian of her class. She attended and graduated from Draughon's Business College in Columbia, with a 2-year degree. After many years of service, she retired from the Internal Revenue Service and the University of South Carolina. Joy was a member of Earlewood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Joy Diane Kyzer Sanderson (Jeff) of Lexington; granddaughters, Jessica Felder (Derrick) of Lexington and Ashley Lamb (Kevin) of Lexington; five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands, Rudolph Moultrie Kyzer and Clarence Henry Brown; brothers, Ernest David Shealey, Jacob Purvis Shealey, Harold Otis Shealey and Clarence Tillman Shealey; sisters, Gertrude Shealey and Sadie Mae Shealey.
Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
