Joyce Carolyn H. Moore, 78, died Sunday, August 23, 2020. Born April 1, 1942 in Pontiac, S.C., she was a daughter of the late John G. Hopkins and Carrie Mae Medlin Weathers.
Mrs. Moore attended Blaney High School where she played basketball and was a sports enthusiast. As a young adult Mrs. Moore enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time on the water. She was an avid gardener; often being told she had the "greenest" thumb.
Survivors include her loving husband, James "Jim" Moore; children, Mark Branham (Cristina), Clayton (Bubba) Branham Sr. (Ellen), Collette Kennedy (Frank); grandchildren, Clayton Jr., Lauren, Lydia, Derek, Taylor, Connor, Zachary, and Susanna; sister, Barbara Erickson (Richard); and her beloved dog, Mack, aka "Mackie". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Bobbi "Bebop" Brazell; sister, Phyllis Celeste Weathers, and brother, Harold Ellisor.
The funeral service for Mrs. Moore will be held at 2 o'clock, Friday, August 28th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. Interment will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, 11020 Two Notch Rd., Elgin, S.C. 29045. The family will greet friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1 o'clock.
