Joyce George Skipper, 85, of Elgin, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022. Born on May 7, 1936, in Marion County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lilly George.

Joyce was the loving wife of 37 years to Miller C. Skipper. She had a love for reading and enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.

Survivors include sons, Lawrence Maxwell Skipper, Kenneth Milton Skipper (Cindy), and Charles Eugene Skipper; daughter, Kathryn Skipper Sweatman; grandchildren, Melissa Skipper Segear (Jason), Michelle Skipper Lemmon (Joey), Stephanie Dianne Mynatt (Cody), and Steven Dale Sweatman (Carissa); great-grandchildren, Mercie, Katie, Emily, Caden, Bella, Gracelynn, and Joseph. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by siblings, Myrtle and Marion.

The funeral service for Ms. Skipper will be held at 1 o'clock on Saturday, February 19th, at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Road Columbia, SC 29204. Family will receive friends the evening prior from 5 until 7 o'clock in the evening at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel.
