Judith (Judy) Bordeaux, 82, of Columbia, SC, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, joining the love of her life, who preceded her in death, Frank Bordeaux. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, fierce love, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren, whose lives she graced with her words of wisdom, infectious laughter, and unconditional love. Nana loved nothing more than traveling to watch her grandchildren participate in marching band, ROTC drills, ball games, dance recitals and cheer competitions. Nana was her happiest when her kitchen was full of the people she loved.
Judy found purpose in serving the volunteers of Providence Hospital for over 20 years and managing the hospital gift shop. After retirement, she focused on the simple pleasures of life. She cherished her dog Charlie, who could always be found on her lap, usually while she was working on a quilt. Judy loved her wild birds and kept their feeders full. Cooking for her family is where she would shine, known for her culinary skills and her coveted recipes. Her warm smile and caring nature will be remembered by everyone whose life she touched.
She is survived by two children: Jennifer Powlas and Frank Bordeaux, IV, five grandchildren, Amanda (Rob) Bordeaux, Trey (Layla) McMillon-Bordeaux, Adam (Sarah) Powlas, Chase (Siara) Bordeaux, Anna (Nick) Beline, and one great-grandchild, Liliana Bordeaux. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bordeaux, and, her parents, Joy (Bill) Velten and John Griffin.
A celebration of her life will be held on January 23rd at 11o'clock at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC.
