Julian Ellis Johnson Jr. 64, died September 24, 2024, at Prisma Richland from complication of a broken leg and other health issues. He was born in Columbia, SC on April 11, 1960. He was the son of Frances Judson Johnson and the late Julian Ellis Johnson, Sr.
He moved many years ago to St. Helena Island, SC. He enjoyed fishing, coast life, and cooking for his friends. Julian never met a stranger. He loved his family and friends. He would give anything to anyone. He was the owner of the Island Meat Market on Lady's Island, in Beaufort, SC. Julian moved to Ridgeway, SC, three years ago to be near his family.
Survivors include his son, Jonathan Dustin Vickers (Jessica), of Beaufort, SC; mother, Frances J. Johnson; brother, Judson H. Johnson Sr. (Robin); granddaughter, Rylee Ann Vickers; grandson, Wyatt Joseph Vickers; his nephews, Judson Hampton Johnson Jr. (Lakyn) and Heyden Linden Johnson (future wife, Hayden), great nephew, Henry Ellis Johnson; his special friend, Theresa Kirby; as well as many loving cousins.
Many thanks to all his doctors at Prisma Richland who gave him excellent care in his hospital stay also the Prisma hospice team.
The Memorial Service for Mr. Johnson will be held at 2 o'clock on Sunday, September 29th, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1715 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Ave, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock in the church gathering hall. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
