Mrs. June A. Samide, 84, of Columbia, died Saturday, August 27, 2016. Born November 15, 1931, in Greensburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Violet Holt Musgrove. June worked 18 years in Guest Services at Palmetto Health Richland, and from 1967-1977 she served as a caregiver with the Carolina Children's Bureau. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and North Trenholm Baptist Church. June appreciated her family and neighbors, and enjoyed the friendships formed while her husband served in the Army.

She is survived by her son, Gordan D. (Edita) Samide; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four brothers; and three sisters. June was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Dale Samide.

The funeral for Mrs. Samide will be held at 2 o'clock, Thursday, September 1st, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Rd Ext., Columbia, with The Rev. R. Joseph Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 1 o'clock.
