Karen Sue Nuzum, age 79, entered into eternal life on December 10, 2025 in Columbia, South Carolina.
Karen was a true example of the "Hands and Feet" of Christ. She was involved in Kairos Outside, which supports women who have been impacted by a loved one who is incarcerated. She attended Grace Fellowship Church while she lived in Ohio and was a part of their Grace Groups. Karen was also part of the Care Team which helped support grieving families. After moving to Columbia, she attended Village Church in Blythewood, South Carolina, where she was involved with the women's Bible study. She had a special place in her heart for the homeless and spent much of her life serving individuals by preparing and serving meals. Karen touched many lives throughout her time on this earth.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leona & Charles F. Moore: brothers, Don Moore, Burl Moore and Karl Lee Moore, sister Charlene Morris.
Karen is survived by her loving son, Leslie David Galbreath (Barbara): step granddaughters, Allyson Rikard (Robert), Andrea Putnam (Tim): great granddaughter Sutton Putnam: brother, Perry Moore and sister, Linda Moore Hinkle as well as many nieces and nephews.
The Celebration of Life for Karen will be held at 2 o'clock Friday, December 19th, 2025 at Shives Funeral Home, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1 o'clock. Burial will take place in Ohio at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kindway where Karen was a mentor to women who were recently released from prison. This ministry was near and dear to her heart.
