Kathleen Crosby Muckenfuss, 87, of Columbia, died Saturday, July 9, 2016. Born on December 2, 1928 on a small family farm in Walterboro, SC, she was a daughter of the late Robert Cecil Crosby and Norine Hudson Crosby. A graduate of Walterboro High School, Kathleen attended Draughon's Business School in Columbia, and later worked as a secretary for both the Southern National Bank in Orangeburg and the civil service department of Fort Jackson. She was a long time member of St. James United Methodist Church.
Kathleen is survived by her husband of 69 years, William Shuler Muckenfuss, Sr.; son, William Shuler "Jackie" Muckenfuss, Jr.; daughter, Ann Sribnick (Dr. Wayne Sribnick); brother, Bob Crosby (Beverly); sister, Joyce Farmer (Fred), all of Columbia; granddaughters, Allison Sribnick of Burbank, California and Lauren Sribnick Fell (Trent) of Houston, Texas. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She loved all her family dearly.
A private burial will be held at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens officiated by her nephew, Pastor Ned Crosby. Memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 3390 Pine Belt Road, Columbia, SC 29204. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
