Kathryn Anne Dean Hendrick "Kathy", passed away at Lexington Medical Center on Friday, May 23rd, 2025. One of three siblings, she was born March 29th, 1940 in Fairfield, Connecticut to the late George William and Anna Louise Nurse. She married Charles L. Dean in 1960, and they made their home in Miami, Florida, where they raised four wonderful children before moving to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 1977. Charles unfortunately passed away from cancer in 1979, and Kathy and the children remained in Myrtle Beach. Some years later, Kathy was fortunate to find love again, and married Hoyt L. Hendrick in 1984, settling down in Conway, South Carolina. Hoyt also sadly succumbed to cancer, and passed away in 2007. A few years later, Kathy decided to move to Irmo, South Carolina, and remained there until her death.

Kathy is predeceased by her parents, brother, Bruce Nurse; both husbands, Charles and Hoyt; and granddaughter, Torie Hendrick Edmunds. Surviving family include her brother, William "Bill" Nurse of Miami; daughters, Deborah Eason (Steve) of Irmo, and Kelly Brott (Tim) of Ocala, Florida; sons, Dan Dean (Nina) of Hoschton, Georgia, and Charles "John" Dean (Kimberly) of Alpharetta, Georgia; along with 13 grandchildren, (Charles L Dean, Leslie Hendrick Ingram, Daniel Cason Dean, Kirby Dean, Rachel Hendrick Meetze, Mathew Eason, Kory Dean, Kathryn Eason, Kayla Brott, Caroline Dean Foust, Cathryn E. Dean, Jessica Hendrick and ClaireAnne Dean); and 11 great grandchildren. In lieu of a traditional service, Kathy had requested a Celebration of Life event be held at a later date.

Shives Funeral Home in Columbia, South Carolina is handling the final arrangements for the family.
