Mr. Kenneth Mark Henry, Jr., 33, of League City, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, but his spirit lives on in Heaven with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.
Mark was born to Ken & Amanda Henry on May 25, 1992, in Columbia, SC. He graduated from Blythewood High School in 2010 and attended Pfeiffer University. He was a member of the Varsity Tennis team both in High School and College.
Mark had a warm, gentle and loving spirit that endeared him to others, and he was a joy to those he came in contact with. He was a big kid at heart. He was always willing to share what he had with others in need.
Mark greatly enjoyed playing pickleball and tennis with his friends. Mark loved his family and was very proud of his sister. His newfound relationships in Texas meant so much to him, as he was part of a Brotherhood that encouraged and uplifted each other to better themselves.
Mark worked mainly in the restaurant industry with his latest employment being with South Shore Harbour Country Club, League City, Tx.
Mark was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church, Columbia, SC where he first placed his faith in Jesus Christ. He participated in Royal Ambassadors and other youth related activities during his time there.
He is survived by his parents Ken & Amanda Henry, and a sister, Shannon Henry, his Grandmother, Iva Dean Sessions, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mark was a true gift from God and will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but we know we will one day reunite with him.
The family would like to thank the staff & all his friends at The Well, Webster, Texas for their loving care, encouragement and support. Also, we would like to thank Spring Valley Baptist Church and the Faith Foundations Class for their love, support and prayers.
The funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Kenneth Mark Henry, Jr. will be held at 2 o'clock on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia, SC 29223. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home, beginning at 1 o'clock. Burial will follow the service at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, 11020 Two Notch Road Elgin, SC 29045.
In lieu of flowers, memorials & donations can be made to Spring Valley Baptist Church, Columbia, SC. or to NAMI South Carolina.
