Graveside services with Military Honors will be held for Kenneth H. Lynn, 86, at 4 o'clock, Sunday, July 26th, in Kelly Cemetery, 1500 block of Kathwood Drive, Columbia. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pets, Inc, P.O. Box 6394, West Columbia, SC 29171.

Mr. Lynn died July 19, 2015 at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala, FL. Born in Arlington, MA, he was a son of the late Warren G. and Karin Hoglund Lynn. Ken was a graduate of Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, NY, and the University of Miami School of Engineering. He began his professional career with the Corps of Engineers, stationed in the Alaska Territory. He was later employed by Dade County, FL, followed by a 30 year stint with the U.S. Coast Guard, Seventh District office in Miami. There, he worked on many projects from Savannah to Puerto Rico. He retired as Chief Structural Engineer in 1993, and moved to Ocala. Ken was also a U.S. Army veteran, and a devoted Boston Red Sox and University of Miami Hurricanes fan.

Surviving are sons, Robert A. and David B. Lynn of Ocala, and Mark J. Lynn of Lexington; first cousins, Douglas Lynn, Audrey Wright, Judy Jenkins, Paul Roberts, Nancy Irving, Elizabeth Alessandrini, Karen Grant, Hilda Wynne, and Robert George. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan Hipp Lynn; and a brother, Lawrence W. Lynn.
