Keturah Beth Washington, 26, of Columbia, died Thursday, February 5, 2015. Born March 28, 1988 in Columbia, she was a daughter of Clarence Washington, Jr. and Sheliaand D. Taylor Washington. Keturah accepted Christ at an early age. She loved the Lord and exemplified the change He made in her life. A member of Capital City Baptist Church, she worked with the teen department, sang with the choir, performed special music and helped with Heaven's Train Ministry. She was a communications major at Columbia International University where her fondness of the theater would show as she was stage manager of two plays while a student. Because of her love of animals she worked at the Humane Society for six years. She enjoyed exercising, was very athletic, and worked as a gymnastics coach, most recently at Capital City Gymnastics.
In addition to her parents, Keturah is survived by her daughter, Fiona Adams; brother, Simeonn Washington; and her sister, Etha Washington; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A service will be held at 11 o'clock, Tuesday, February 10th at Capital City Baptist Church with The Rev. Paul Monroe officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Capital City Baptist Church for the Fiona Adams Scholarship Fund, 2243 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29223. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel is assisting the family.
