Kizer Hoffman, Jr., 83, of West Columbia, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024. He was born in North, South Carolina to the late Kizer Hoffman, Sr. and Aileen Sturkie Hoffman.

He graduated from Eau Claire High School. At the beginning of his career, he worked with several electrical companies in Columbia as a Master Electrician. He also worked in New York city as an electrician. He retired from the South Carolina Department of Corrections where he was a vocational instructor at Kirkland and Lee County Prisons for 21 years. He served in the United States Marines and retired from the South Carolina National Guards. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. After retirement, he loved to travel with his wife as they enjoyed the beauties of an awesome God. Kizer was a member of South Lexington Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda "Lynn" Lever Hoffman and two daughters: Sylvia H. Meetze (Chris) of Lexington and Kandi H. Grant (Geoff) of Springdale; five grandchildren Jordan Meetze (Brittney), McKenzie Pack (Caleb), Mallory Gilbert, Taylor Gilbert, and Emily Grant. He's also survived by four great-grandchildren; Rhett and Georgia Gilbert, Hank Beard, and Fletcher Pack. In addition, he's survived by two nephews and five nieces and their families.

The family would like to thank Kendall, Dominic, and the staff at Prisma Hospice for their loving care.

The graveside service to honor the life of Kizer Hoffman, Jr. will be conducted by Pastor Bill Howard on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 2 o'clock, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends and family after the service. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
