Larry Steven Fulmer, 66, of Elgin, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, August 7, 2019. Born July 1, 1953 in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Otis E. Fulmer and Elua Howell Fulmer. Larry retired in 2017 from the South Carolina Department of Corrections. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Larry's biggest goal in life was to see his boys stick together and made sure they lived by three important values; never lie, never steal and treat everyone with respect. He loved his daughters-in-law and treated them as his own. His whole world was the family and friends that surrounded him and was always willing to help anyone in need. You never knew when he was going to call, but it would always be at the time that you needed to hear him say "I love you".
Survivors include his wife, Linda Gail Fulmer; sons, Bobby "Rusty" Johnson, Jr. (Vicki), Robert Glenn Johnson and James "Scotty" Johnson (Crystal); a daughter-in-law, Dawn Fulmer; grandchildren, Caleb Justin Parker, Haley Erin Parker, Bevrlynn Gail Johnson, James Luke Johnson, Perry Steven Fulmer; and his brothers, David W. Fulmer(Vickie) and Charles "Willie" Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Erick Fulmer; and a sister, Linda Kay Fulmer Justice.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1 until 3 o'clock, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
