Laura Janie Marie Dennis Stegenga, 46, of Columbia, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, on July 19, 1977, she was the daughter of the late Patricia Ann Dennis.

Laura was the loving wife of nearly 20 years to Robert "Bobby" Stegenga. Her life was devoted to her children and being a homemaker to her family. She was loud, outgoing, and brought joy to those around her. Many would describe Laura as a kind, compassionate soul, and one to never meet a stranger. She enjoyed photography and spending time with those she loved.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Shannon Agnes Marie Dennis (Lorenzo Simon) and Johnathan Richard Dennis (Briana); granddaughter, Evelyn Kay Dennis; brother, Richard "Bubba" Dennis (Beth); nieces, Hannah Olivia Dennis, Georgia Louise Dennis, Scarlett Faith Dennis; uncle, Clinton G. Dennis; as well as many loving cousins, extended family, and dear friends she considered family and was known to as "Aunt Laura/Lala." Along with her mother, she is preceded in death by grandmother, Agnes Marie Shannon Dennis.

The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Stegenga will be held a 2 o'clock on Saturday, May 18th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock at the funeral home. The Stegenga Family has requested for those attending to dress in casual attire.
