Laura O. Roberts, 85, of Gaston, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015. Born in Lancaster, South Carolina she was a daughter of James R. and Annie Nora Eubanks Oliver. She was married to the late Milton N. Roberts, Sr.

Family was very important to Laura and she was known as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a strong rock for her family and a survivor of cancer two times. The family appreciates the special care Laura received by her granddaughter, Lacy Jae Terry during this time. To know Laura was to love her and she had many friends.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Darlene R. (Jack) Tager, Wanda R. Colburn, and Yvonne R. Terry; and loving son, Milton N. Roberts, Jr; seven grandchildren, Lacy Jae Terry, Trey Terry, Angel Tindal, Angela Fernandez, Jeff Taylor, Conrad Taylor, Tina Tager; and eleven great grandchildren, Ambreia Middleton, John Athan Tager, Andrew Tager, Josh Staley, Emma Tindal, Joseph Tindal, Benjamin Tindal, Joshua Tindal, Elijah Tindal, Josiah Tindal, and Samuel Tindal.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded by her granddaughter, Barbara Jean Dowd; brother, James Oliver, Jr.; sisters, Myrtle Welch and Lula Rollins.

A funeral service will be held, Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 3 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock. Burial will follow at Olympia Cemetery.
