Lavonne Belk Maddox, 73, of Columbia, died on Sunday, October 6, 2024. Born in Winnsboro, SC, on February 27, 1951, she was a daughter of the late HC Belk and Pearline Branham Belk. Mrs. Maddox was a member of Eau Claire Baptist Church and devoted to her family. Lavonne loved life and was a strong Christian lady who loved her sons, Matt, Jason and Eric as well as all of her family. Her grandchildren were so, so special to her. She also loved her dog, Cheyenne and her grand dog, Classie. She enjoyed working in her yard and planting flowers.

Survivors include her husband, Jack M. Maddox; sons, Matthew Maddox, Jason Maddox and Eric Maddox (Michelle); grandchildren, Hannah Maddox (Cartter), Ashlyn Maddox, Noah Maddox, Nate Maddox and Jaxon Leitch; and sisters, Jeanette Fink, Mamie Motley (Mason) and Janice Lee (Kerry), all of Columbia; and brother, Kenny Belk (Earlene), of White Oak. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Taylor ; and brother, Heyward Belk.

The graveside service for Mrs. Maddox will be held at 2 o'clock, Wednesday, October 9th, at Memorial Gardens of Columbia, 9301 Wilson Blvd., Columbia, with the Rev. Steven Bouknight officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Tuesday, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
