Laxton Wayne Hinson, 80, of Columbia, SC died Saturday, January 28th, 2023. Laxton was born to the late Mr. Crawford Hinson and Mrs. Margaret Doares on September 13, 1942 in Rock Hill, SC.

Mr. Hinson is survived by his two sons, Steven Hinson (Kim) and Jeffrey Hinson (Virginia); his grandchildren, Brianna Hinson, Brian Griggs, Brandon Gibson, and Courtney Hood (Stancil); his great grandchildren, Addisyn Hood, Cameron Hood, Brooke Hood, and Audriana Gibson; Step-Mother, Frances Ann Roland Hinson and his siblings, Joan (Jimmy) Wheeler, Vonnie (the late Richard) Adams, Lanie (Jimmy) Knight, Phil (Paula) Hinson, Russell (Teresa) Hinson, and Fran (Darrell) Coleman; Step-Siblings, Timothy Mackey and Barbara Mackey Bonham; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Hinson graduated from Rock Hill High School. He was a member of Windsor United Methodist Church in Columbia. Mr. Hinson was a member of the Jaycees for over 30 years and for a time, served as the Jaycees President. He was a member of Civitan International and was a founding member of Camp Hope. Mr. Laxton enjoyed drawing and collecting, primarily sports memorabilia and Hot Wheels cars. Mr. Laxton Wayne Hinson will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.
