Mrs. Leah Mae Sanders, 91, of Columbia, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 8, 1931 in Branchland, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William and Bertha Parsons.

Leah enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Bernadine Metze (Ken), Kathy Sanders Cunningham, Dianna Dawkins (Mitch), Loretta Sears-Roberts (Tony); sons, Curtis Sanders, (Connie), Mark Sanders (Diane); and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Hobert Clarence Sanders; daughters, Rose Lyke and Kathleen Sanders; and a son Jimmy Sanders.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff of Agape Hospice.

A graveside service will be held at 2 o'clock on Saturday, December 3, 2022 in the Serenity Gardens section of Greenlawn Memorial Park on Leesburg Road in Columbia. Pastor Andrew Weems of North Columbia Baptist Church is officiating. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
