Lee Damon Postal, 62, passed away peacefully November 3, 2021. He was the son of the late Peter William Postal and Bessie Diamantakos Postal of Spartanburg, SC.
Lee graduated from Spartanburg High School and the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He had a successful 30-year career in the waste management industry, serving as General Manager of the Columbia operations of Republic Services, Allied Waste, until his retirement in 2016.
Following in his father's footsteps, Lee started playing golf at an early age at The Country Club of Spartanburg. It was a skill he carried throughout life, forming many life-long friends along the way. During leisure time, he enjoyed many rounds with friends on the golf course. More than anything, Lee was a family man and loved his wife Melinda and his children, Damon (29) and Jordan (23).
Lee is survived by his wife of 30 years, Melinda McDonald Postal, and his two children, Lee Damon Postal, Jr. (Katharine) and Jordan Elisabeth Postal. He also leaves behind his brothers, Peter William "PW" Postal, Jr. (Pamela) and Russell Richard Postal, as well as many extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank friends and family for their support and kindness during this time, and Amedisys Hospice for their exceptional care.
The funeral service for Lee will be held at 2:30 o'clock, Sunday November 7th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. The family will host a reception at the funeral prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock. A private burial will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
