Lelia Coleman Pollok "Lee" Huff

Lelia Coleman Pollok “Lee” Huff, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, leaving behind footprints of kindness, faith and generosity that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Lee was born on September 20, 1938, in Danville, Virginia to Allen Crispen Pollok and Sally Coleman Pollok. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Allen Crispen Pollok, Jr. She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles L. Huff, Jr.; her daughters, Sylvia Louise Huff (Mark) Trimmier and Cynthia Denise Huff (Jerry) Johnson; her grandchildren, Benjamin A. Myers, Anderson Reid (Alexandra) Trimmier, Emily M. Myers (Julian) Moss, Paul Coleman (Dina) Trimmier, and Austin E. Johnson; and her great-grandchildren, Lilly Diane Moss, Hollisan Ford Trimmier, Jackson Julian Moss, and Turner Rowan Trimmier.

Lee attended Stratford Hall Preparatory School for Women in Danville, Virginia where she graduated as Valedictorian of her class. She went on to attend High Point College, now High Point University, where she met Charles while on choir tour. The two married before their senior year and began a life together that would span more than six decades. After graduating with a degree in Christian Education, Lee dedicated her life to serving God and the church in countless ways. Her service included roles as a choir member, youth director, church secretary, district secretary and serving in areas of membership, memorials, Stephen Ministry and women’s ministry, just to name a few. Whatever the need, she was willing to quietly step in and help.

Lee followed Charles and their growing family as he pursued his career in textiles, finance and banking through moves from Cheraw, South Carolina to Cleveland, Tennessee to Conover, North Carolina and eventually back to High Point, North Carolina. There, she opened her own business called “The Needle Art Center,” where she shared her love of needle arts by selling supplies and teaching classes.
Lee loved making beautiful things with her hands. She taught her daughter and granddaughter to sew, knit, crochet, cross-stitch and embroider, passing down not only her skills but also her patience and joy in creating something by hand. Even in retirement, Lee continued to practice her crafts by volunteering and making handmade gifts for others such as crocheted blankets, knit prayer shawls and sewn dresses for children in need in Africa.

Her strong faith in Jesus Christ was her strength and hope, and that faith was beautifully manifested in a life of love, service and generosity. Lee was a faithful prayer partner for her family and friends, always reaching out to make sure everyone was okay, no matter how many miles separated them.

She had a quiet, gentle approach to life and an ear that listened without judgment. Her soft presence and compassionate heart spoke louder than she ever did. Lee had a way of making everyone with whom she crossed paths feel heard, loved and deeply valued. She showed that a great legacy can be built through listening, serving, praying, creating and loving others well.

Lee leaves behind a family who will forever cherish the love she gave so freely, the wisdom she shared so gently and the prayers she prayed so faithfully. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered with the confidence that she is now resting in the arms of the Savior she loved and served.

The service to celebrate Lee’s life will be held at 3 o’clock, Sunday, August 9th, at Shandon United Methodist Church, 3407 Devine St, Columbia, SC 29205. A reception for guests will immediately follow in Wesley Hall at the church.
