Leo Delane Ross, 87, of Columbia, died on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Born in Blaney, SC, on July 6, 1936, he was a son of the late George and Mabel Monts Ross. Mr. Ross served in the United States Air National Guard from September 1954 to September 1994. During his service, he was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis. He was a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church where he enjoyed being a member of the Early Risers Sunday School Class and singing with the Memory Singers Gospel Group.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Heron Ross; daughter, Mary Ann Ross; step-son, Jason Rhyner (Christina); grandchildren, India, Raven, Kayla, Kirsten, Jase and Alyssa; as well as his sister-in-law, Juanita Ross; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy; son, Danny; and brother, Fred.

The funeral service for Mr. Ross will be held at 11 o'clock, Friday, December 8th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with the Rev. David Knapp officiating. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 10 o'clock.
