Lester B. Hacker, 88, of Columbia, died Sunday, August 18, 2019. Mr. Hacker was a son of the late Harvey and Virginia McPherson Hacker.

Survivors include his children, Pastor Jerry Hacker (Shirley), of SC, Steve Hacker (Lisa) and Laura Hutchens, all of VA; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; and a sister, Bertha Earnest. In addition to his parents, he is preceded In death by his wife, Jessie Fields Hacker; two brothers; and two sisters.

A service for Mr. Hacker will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday, August 24th at Midway Methodist Independent Church, 8481 Old Percival Road, Columbia. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
