Lewis Roy Weeks, Jr., 91, of Columbia, died Monday, January 18, 2016. Born October 28, 1924, in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late Lewis R. Weeks, Sr. and Lula Roberts Weeks. Roy graduated from Columbia High School, served in the US Army in India and China during WWII, and later graduated from the University of South Carolina. He retired from the South Carolina Department of Education and was an active and faithful member of Main Street United Methodist Church. Roy enjoyed square dancing, and was a member of the Columbia Twirlers for many years.

Roy is survived by several cousins and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Sarah Whitworth Weeks.

Entombment in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum will be private. Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is assisting the family.
