Obituary

Mrs. Lieselotte Maxwell, 86, passed away peacefully in her home on 24 October 2016 at Christopher Towers, Columbia, South Carolina. Born in Munchen, West Germany, 22 February 1930, the daughter of Barnabas and Anna Zimmerman, Mrs. Maxwell came to the United States with her late husband, MSG Charles D. Maxwell of Bowden, Georgia, who was killed in action during the Vietnam conflict on 12 January 1967
.
Mrs. Maxwell is survived by her son, Edward Howard Zimmermann of Munchen, West Germany, her numerous nieces and nephews throughout the United States and her close friends and Family at Fort Jackson and Christopher Towers, Columbia, South Carolina.

Mrs. Maxwell dedicated her life to her late husband and worked in numerous positions in support of Soldiers and their Families on Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Those who knew Mrs. Maxwell intimately understood that she was "one tough woman", who was very caring with a good heart that deeply loved her late husband and yearned once again to be by his side at his interment in Bowden, Georgia.

Mrs. Maxwell was cremated on 28 October 2016 at Shives Funeral Home, Columbia, South Carolina. A portion of her remains will be laid to rest next to her husband at Sardis Baptist Church in Bowden, Georgia; in addition, a portion of her remains will be laid to rest in her birthplace of Munchen, West Germany. A private memorial will be held by her Family.
